Exeter Sexpression……’Lets talk about sex!!!’

Sexpression:UK is a national network of student-led sex education initiatives and is a project of Medsin. Sexpression educates young people in Sex and Relationship issues and aims to empower them to make informed choices about their sexual and reproductive health.

Here at Peninsula we have 3 branches of Sexpression at each locality: Exeter, Plymouth and Truro. We deliver interactive and informal teaching sessions to school aged students from year 7 up to year 13, in small groups, creating a relaxed environment to learn about sexual health and broach sensitive topics. Some of the topics we currently teach are:

• Contraception
• Sexually Acquired Infections (SAIs)
• Relationships
• Self-esteem
• Sexuality and homophobia
• Puberty and body image
• Sex and the law
• Parenthood
• Attitudes and values
• Drugs including alcohol

The Exeter branch of Sexpression is brand new this year, and already we have got plenty of teaching sessions planned in the local area that we need your help with!!

All Sexpression members are fully trained to teach Sex and Relationships education at our Peninsula training weekend- Friday 30th October to Sunday 1st November which this year will be in Plymouth. This is a fun filled weekend for all 3 branches, with a huge Halloween social on the Saturday night! Sexpression is something fun, interactive and rewarding that will look great on your CV!
