MedSin

Medsin is for everyone. Whether you are interested in politics, human rights, tropical diseases, sexual health…whether you want to become the president of an established campaign, help out at the odd event or simply just turn up to watch a film, Medsin has something to offer for you!

Many of us come to medical school with dreams of working abroad or fighting injustices in the world when qualified. Unfortunately though, an enthusiastic interest in global health issues often becomes neglected as focus moves more towards academic progression. Medsin is here to help keep that interest alive and enable us to make the biggest difference to the lives of those members of society who need the most attention and are so easily forgotten.
Through lectures, workshops, debates, and other local and national events over the coming year, we hope you will be able to incorporate these interests into your career as a healthcare professional that recognises their responsibility to all members of a global society – both inside and outside the clinic.
As the UK representative of the International Federation of Medical Students (IFMSA), Medsin is a network of students, with branches in Universities across the UK, whose aim is to raise awareness of, and act upon, heath inequalities in our local and global communities. At Peninsula there is a wide range of exciting campaigns and projects affiliated with Medsin, operating under independent committees, and working in their own way towards a shared goal – global health promotion…and we’d love to see you guys get involved!
Welcome to Peninsula, and welcome to Medsin!
