Freshers Fortnight
Freshers Fortnight is 2 weeks of what can only be described as... incredible! Well... I tell a lie, what WE do is incredible, what PMS does is find ways to tell you trivial things in ways that are more boring than the last! More on that treat... LATER!!!!
So what do WE do?

We start by moving you in on DAY 1 (check the Events page for that very special day). MedSoc will be there in highly visible tshirts to welcome you to your accommodation blocks, direct you where to go, help you find your room and hell... we even carry some of your bags for you!!!!
Once you've moved in and settled, we'll collect you all up for your first evening of induction, just to give your new friendships a little nudge in the right direction and provide some ammo for stories that will make you legends to the rest of the year!
So first day over, we then begin 2 weeks of parties, games, dressing up, inductions, trips and nearly everything else that we can to achieve the 2 most important things a fresher can do: meet new people and HAVE FUN! I mean, come on, you've just moved out from home and you're at uni, if that's not something to celebrate for 2 weeks, I don't know what is!
Check the events page in the weeks before Freshers begins in order to get the full low-down of what will be happening. Its a hectic 2 weeks but you will get as much out of it as you put into it, and a seriously good time is there to be had!
One Important Final Note for those with Hesitations
A lot of our events involve dressing up and alcohol and parties of huge proportions! For the majority of you, this is a perfect opportunity to come out of your shell, move away from school days and break out into your University persona. For others, this sounds like a night-mare! We are HERE to make sure everyone settles in and has fun. We will be putting on side events for those not interested in the main schedule and if you live off campus, we'll have special reps to help you integrate! We will have day of rest and chilled out evenings included for all so we don't kill you before you even make it to a lecture! And if you have a question, or an idea or suggestion, please ask. Once the schedule is up online, we invite your input!
And what does PMS do?

I'm afraid 2 weeks of compulsory inductions that explain PMS, welcome you over and over and over again, show you where you need to be, explain IT... I mean its every day and after we're done with you each night, getting up for these will be painful!
But to be honest, its all part and parcel of moving in. You'll have the best 2 weeks and all the new people, experiences and places you get to see, meet and do, will make for a good time. And at the end of it all, you'll be left with some pretty epic memories!!
