Freshers Parents

The Freshers Parent System is a relatively new system, designed to support the new Fresh in integrating into University and Peninsula Life.

When the 1st years arrive, you are assigned a pair of 2nd year "parents" and some "brothers and sisters" from your year and you become a lovely family! The idea is to give you a support framework where you can get to know some other students very quickly and have a safe place to ask those "stupid questions" that aren't really stupid and everyone else is thinking, letting the 2nd years pass on all that clever information and experience that they have picked up over the last year!

Your parents will meet you in Freshers week where you will have a chance to get to know them and ask them any questions, exchange contact details and gain some important advice that they might have for you. From then on, its entirely up to how much you, or your parents want to get out of it, and in the past, families have gone for meals at various points during the term to make sure all is in order and everyone is content!

Ultimately, this system adds a new avenue of support for any Fresh who is worried about coming to University, or the system here at PMS as you'll always have someone on hand who you can call up at any time, or see out and about whenever you like, whose been through it all before and can guide you accordingly, no matter how shy or confident a person you are!
